The radio module Preon32 uses a 2.4 GHz transceiver to send and receive data in the frame format IEEE 802.15.4. This frame format enables the implementation of higher protocol layers such as Zigbee or 6loWPAN, to name just two possibilities. This example for the PreonVM shows the initialization of the radio transceiver using a number of parameters and the reception of radio messages. The transceiver has been configured in such a way that it remains switched on and immediately acknowledges incoming radio messages with a confirmation. The transmitted user data of the radio message is assumed to be text messages that can be output on the console.
