The radio module Preon32 uses a 2.4 GHz transceiver to send and receive data in the frame format IEEE 802.15.4. This frame format enables the implementation of higher protocol layers such as Zigbee or 6loWPAN, to name just two possibilities. This example for the PreonVM shows the initialization of the radio transceiver using a series of parameters and the transmission of radio messages. A radio message is defined in a so-called frame, which contains further properties in addition to the network data (payload). After all parameters have been defined, a message can be sent by radio. Whether a transmission was successful depends, among other things, on whether the recipient with the correct ID is active and whether receipt of a message is confirmed.
